Description
A delicious, healthy alternative to traditional pasta, featuring roasted spaghetti squash tossed in marinara sauce and topped with Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 medium spaghetti squash
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cut the spaghetti squash in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds.
- Drizzle olive oil on the inside of the squash and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the squash halves cut side down on a baking sheet and roast for 30-40 minutes, or until the flesh is tender.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
- Use a fork to scrape the flesh into spaghetti-like strands.
- Heat the marinara sauce in a pan and combine it with the spaghetti squash strands.
- Serve topped with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
Notes
For added flavor, consider seasoning the olive oil with garlic powder or herbs. Always choose a ripe spaghetti squash for the best results.
