Description

A refreshing iced tea that blends the flavors of Washington apples with aromatic spices and invigorating green tea, perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

  • 2 Gala Washington® apples
  • 2 Golden Washington® apples
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 pieces of star anise
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 4 bags of green tea (or lemon tea)
  • Ice, to taste
  • 1 Gala Washington® apple, for garnish
  • 1 Golden Washington® apple, for garnish
  • 4 thinly sliced lemons
  • 4 sprigs of mint

Instructions

  1. Cut the apples into quarters and remove the seeds.
  2. Place the quartered apples in a pot with a liter and a half of water, the cinnamon stick, star anise, and brown sugar.
  3. Cover the pot and simmer on medium heat for one hour.
  4. Strain the mixture to extract all the pulp. Reserve the liquid and let it cool.
  5. Boil a liter of water and steep the four bags of green tea for 20 minutes.
  6. Fill a pitcher with ice and add the apple pulp. Pour in the cooled green tea and mix well. If desired, adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar.
  7. For each glass, add more ice and garnish with lemon slices and small apple pieces.
  8. Pour the iced tea over the prepared glasses, ensuring it’s very cold.

Notes
