- 1 (16 oz) can canned kidney beans – drained, rinsed, and mashed (454 g)
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) minced garlic
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) chili powder
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) paprika
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) ground cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) salt
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) ground black pepper
Instructions
- Collect all necessary items.
- Warm up the oil in a big saucepan over medium heat. Add the beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until it is browned evenly, about 6 to 8 minutes. Then, incorporate the onion and continue cooking until it softens.
- Pour in the water; blend in the tomatoes, kidney beans, and garlic.
- Mix in the chili powder, paprika, oregano, cayenne pepper, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Allow the mixture to reach a boil. Lower the heat to a gentle simmer, cover the pot, and let it cook for 30 minutes.
