- 4 cups milk

Instructions
- Soak the tapioca pearls in water for about 30 minutes.
- In a saucepan, combine the soaked tapioca, milk, sugar, and salt over medium heat.
- Cook while stirring frequently until the mixture thickens, about 15-20 minutes.
- If using eggs, whisk them in a separate bowl and temper with a bit of the hot tapioca mixture. Then stir it back into the saucepan.
- Remove from heat and add the vanilla extract.
