Description

A delightful blend of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors, this sweet and sour chicken is perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup sweet and sour sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Coat the chicken pieces in cornstarch, dip them in beaten eggs, and then fry in a pan with oil until golden and crispy.
  2. Remove the chicken and keep it warm. In the same pan, sauté the bell pepper and onion until soft.
  3. Add the sweet and sour sauce and bring to a simmer.
  4. Return the chicken to the pan, stirring to coat in the sauce.
  5. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through. Serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, season the cornstarch with a pinch of salt and pepper before coating the chicken. Consider using a mix of colored bell peppers for visual appeal.
