Description

A delightful and easy dessert combining fresh strawberries and creamy cheesecake in a buttery cake.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (or gluten-free cake mix)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup milk (almond milk or oat milk for dairy-free)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and let them sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. Beat softened cream cheese with the remaining 3/4 cup of sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Mix together the yellow cake mix, melted butter, milk, and salt until just combined.
  5. Pour half of the cake batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the batter and layer the marinated strawberries on top.
  7. Pour the remaining cake batter over the strawberries and cream cheese.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cool for 10-15 minutes and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Use fresh or thawed frozen strawberries. Coconut sugar can be used for a caramel flavor.
