Description
Simple and flavorful sticky chicken rice bowls featuring a sticky sweet glaze made with soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger, served over fluffy rice.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 pound chicken breast, diced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- Green onions, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Begin by preparing the sauce. In a medium bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, cornstarch, garlic, and ginger. Whisk everything until you achieve a smooth consistency.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the diced chicken breast and cook until it turns golden and is cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- Once the chicken is nicely browned, pour the prepared sauce over the chicken. Cook while stirring frequently until the sauce thickens, roughly 2-3 minutes.
- Serve the chicken over the warm cooked rice, allowing the rice to soak up the sauce. Finally, garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken before cooking or adding vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas.
