Description

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast


Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the warm water and yeast, letting it sit until frothy.
  3. Stir in the sourdough starter and yeast mixture into the dry ingredients.
  4. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into small balls.
  7. Place on a baking sheet, cover, and let rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Ensure your sourdough starter is active for the best results. Adding steam to the oven can create a crustier exterior.
