Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the warm water and yeast, letting it sit until frothy.
- Stir in the sourdough starter and yeast mixture into the dry ingredients.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into small balls.
- Place on a baking sheet, cover, and let rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Ensure your sourdough starter is active for the best results. Adding steam to the oven can create a crustier exterior.
