A comforting dish combining hearty ground beef, tender potatoes, and tangy ketchup, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 4 medium potatoes, diced
- 1 cup bell peppers, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions and bell peppers. Cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic along with the ground beef or turkey. Cook until browned and cooked through, approximately 6-8 minutes.
- Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper to the skillet, mixing well to combine.
- Fold in diced potatoes and cover the skillet. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For a vegetarian version, replace meat with lentils or beans. Adjust seasonings to taste.
