Ingredients
- 1 lb. elbow macaroni
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 28 oz. tomato sauce
- 20 oz. diced tomatoes
- 2 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1/4 tsp. rosemary
- 1 tsp. parsley
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Bring a significant amount of water to a boil in a large pot. Add salt and then the elbow macaroni. Cook for about four minutes until slightly tender.
- Drain the macaroni and set it aside.
- Place a skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Add minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine.
- Pour in the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes, mixing well.
- Sprinkle in the oregano, basil, rosemary, parsley, thyme, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir to blend.
- Add the drained macaroni to the skillet, reduce heat, and stir gently to combine.
- Cover and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes until al dente.
- If desired, mix in the cheddar cheese and allow it to melt before serving.
Notes
For additional flavor, let the goulash simmer longer to allow the spices to meld. Adjust spices based on your personal preference.
