A quick and easy side dish featuring fresh asparagus roasted to perfection with olive oil, salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh asparagus
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- Juice of 1 lemon (approximately 1 tablespoon)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Rinse and dry the asparagus, then trim the tough ends.
- Place the asparagus in a single layer on the baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
- Season the asparagus with kosher salt and ground black pepper, tossing to coat evenly.
- Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over the spears.
- Roast in the oven for about 10 minutes or until fork tender.
- Remove from the oven and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the asparagus. Optionally, add a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
Notes
For best results, choose thin asparagus spears and ensure they are evenly spaced on the baking sheet to roast effectively.
