Description

Savory pastries filled with prosciutto, Swiss cheese, and fresh asparagus, wrapped in flaky puff pastry.


Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen puff pastry (2 sheets, thawed)
  • 12 slices prosciutto
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 bundle asparagus (approximately 1 lb, ends trimmed)
  • 1 large egg (beaten)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out one thawed sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it doubles in size. Cut it into six equal squares.
  3. Place one slice of prosciutto on each square, followed by one slice of Swiss cheese and 3-4 stalks of asparagus diagonally.
  4. Fold the corners of the puff pastry square over the filling to create a bundle. Tuck one corner under the bottom and gently press down to seal.
  5. Transfer the bundles to the prepared baking sheet and use a pastry brush to egg wash any exposed pastry.
  6. Bake for 14-16 minutes, until golden brown and fully puffed.

Notes

For a twist, swap Swiss cheese with Cheddar or Gruyère. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 days.
