Description
Savory pastries filled with prosciutto, Swiss cheese, and fresh asparagus, wrapped in flaky puff pastry.
Ingredients
- 1 package frozen puff pastry (2 sheets, thawed)
- 12 slices prosciutto
- 12 slices Swiss cheese
- 1 bundle asparagus (approximately 1 lb, ends trimmed)
- 1 large egg (beaten)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out one thawed sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it doubles in size. Cut it into six equal squares.
- Place one slice of prosciutto on each square, followed by one slice of Swiss cheese and 3-4 stalks of asparagus diagonally.
- Fold the corners of the puff pastry square over the filling to create a bundle. Tuck one corner under the bottom and gently press down to seal.
- Transfer the bundles to the prepared baking sheet and use a pastry brush to egg wash any exposed pastry.
- Bake for 14-16 minutes, until golden brown and fully puffed.
Notes
For a twist, swap Swiss cheese with Cheddar or Gruyère. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 days.
