A comforting one-pan cheeseburger pie that combines the classic flavors of a cheeseburger into a savory pie, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onions over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Place the pie crust in a greased pie pan.
- Pour the beef mixture into the crust, then sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- If desired, cover with another pie crust and cut slits for ventilation. Otherwise, leave open-faced.
- Brush with egg wash if using.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Experiment with different cheeses and add veggies like bell peppers or mushrooms for a variation.
