Description

Delicious and easy-to-make chocolate chip cookie bars that melt in your mouth, combining nostalgia and indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease your 9×13-inch pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until well combined.
  3. Mix the flour, salt, and baking soda in a separate bowl. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula. Mix just until no streaks of flour remain—do not overmix.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  5. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan using your hands or a spatula to smooth the surface.
  6. Bake for 28–32 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with moist crumbs, not wet batter.
  7. Let the bars cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before cutting into squares.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of espresso powder or experimenting with different types of chocolate chips. Ensure the bars cool completely before cutting to avoid crumbling.
