Description

Delightful cookies infused with brown sugar and pure maple syrup, offering a perfect balance of chewy and crispy textures.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (for frosting)
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk (for consistency)
  • Optional: a sprinkle of cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by creaming together the softened butter and brown sugar with the electric mixer for about 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract into the butter mixture. Mix until everything comes together smoothly.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients while mixing on low speed.
  4. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to roll dough into 1 1/2-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches apart. Gently flatten each ball slightly.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until edges turn golden and centers are set. Let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  6. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cookies and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor.
