Description
Delicious Greek yogurt brownies that are both fudgy and healthier, featuring a blend of Greek yogurt, applesauce, and dark chocolate chips.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (120g) plain Greek yogurt (preferably full-fat or 2%)
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar or coconut sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour for healthier option)
- 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (90g) dark chocolate chips (optional for extra richness)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, applesauce, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. The batter will be thick.
- If using chocolate chips, fold them into the mixture for extra richness.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs (but not wet batter).
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
For variations, consider adding nuts, swirls of cream cheese, or experimenting with different types of chocolate.
