A flavorful and crispy chicken dish coated in a sweet and savory sauce, perfect for any weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2-3 green onions, chopped
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Toss chicken pieces with cornstarch until well coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer and cook for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
Notes
For a spicier version, incorporate red pepper flakes into the sauce.
