Description

Discover how to make a delicious Easy Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak with our foolproof recipe. Perfect for a hearty and comforting meal!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds (900g) lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
  • 1 (1 ounce (28 g)) envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1/4 cup (30g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 (10.5 ounce (298 g)) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 3/4 cup (180ml) water
  • 1 (1 ounce (28 g)) packet dry au jus mix

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly blend the ground beef with bread crumbs, milk, and onion soup mix; then form into 8 oval shapes.
  2. Warm up the oil in a big frying pan over medium-high heat. Lightly coat the patties with flour and sear them on both sides until browned.
  3. Arrange the seared patties in the slow cooker, stacking them in a pyramid shape.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the condensed soup, water, and au jus mix; then evenly pour this mixture over the patties.
  5. Set the slow cooker to Low and let it cook until the beef is fully cooked, approximately 4 to 5 hours.

Notes

  • Consider using lean ground turkey instead of beef for a lighter dish. Experiment with different varieties of condensed soup like cream of mushroom or cream of celery for added flavor. Serve the Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
