A delicious twist on tacos featuring crispy wonton wrappers filled with tender chicken and fresh coleslaw.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil (divided)
- 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cups coleslaw mix (cabbage and carrots)
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp honey
- 12 wonton wrappers
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken with teriyaki sauce, 1/2 tbsp sesame oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Allow it to marinate for ten minutes.
- Cook the chicken: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the marinated chicken for about 5-7 minutes or until it’s fully cooked.
- Prepare the coleslaw: In a separate bowl, toss the coleslaw mix, sliced green onions, rice vinegar, honey, and the remaining half tablespoon of sesame oil together until well combined.
- Fry wonton wrappers: In a small pan, heat oil over medium heat. Lightly fry the wonton wrappers for 20-30 seconds on each side until they turn golden and crispy.
- Assemble the tacos: Fill each crispy wonton wrapper with cooked chicken and the prepared coleslaw mix. Drizzle with sweet chili sauce, then garnish with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro.
- Serve immediately, enjoying the crunchy and flavorful experience.
