A rich and comforting seafood bisque featuring tender crab and succulent shrimp in a velvety broth, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb crab meat
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups seafood stock
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat, then add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until softened.
- Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until it forms a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the seafood stock, bringing it to a simmer.
- Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the crab meat, heavy cream, Old Bay seasoning, and season with salt and pepper.
- Allow the bisque to simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

For additional flavor, use homemade seafood stock if possible. Garnish with lemon zest for a refreshing twist.
