Delightful cinnamon apple rolls with soft dough and a comforting apple-cinnamon filling, perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 apple, peeled and diced
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a larger bowl, mix together flour, sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt.
- Add the activated yeast mixture to the flour mixture and knead until a dough forms.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and spread diced apples on top.
- Mix cinnamon and brown sugar, and sprinkle over apples.
- Roll the dough into a log and slice into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For softer rolls, let the dough rise longer or experiment with adding a pinch of sugar for browning. Consider refrigerating the rolls overnight for easier morning prep.
