Description
A delightful and healthier treat combining bananas, creamy peanut butter, and rich chocolate, perfect for satisfying sweet cravings.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/3 cup natural peanut butter
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 2 teaspoons coconut oil
Instructions
- Peel and slice the bananas into rounds about 1/4 inch thick.
- Line a platter or small baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On each slice, place about 1/2 teaspoon of peanut butter.
- Top with another slice, forming a little sandwich.
- Keep going until all banana slices are used. You should have about 30 bites.
- Place the bites on the lined platter and freeze for about 1 hour.
- After the bites have hardened, melt the chocolate by combining it with coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave for 1 minute, then stir. Continue microwaving in 30-second increments until melted (this should take no more than 2 minutes).
- Remove one platter of frozen banana bites from the freezer. Dip each bite halfway into the melted chocolate.
- Return the chocolate-covered bites to the parchment-lined platter.
- Repeat until all bites are coated.
- Freeze for another 15 minutes to harden.
Notes
Consider adding a sprinkle of sea salt on the melted chocolate before it sets for enhanced flavor. Experiment with different nut butters and toppings for variety.
