Description
Delightful Chocolate Coconut Bars made with graham cracker crust, chocolate chips, and coconut flakes, perfect for sharing.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups fine graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 teaspoon fine sea salt, separated
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease an 8″x8″ baking dish.
- Stir together the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a small mixing bowl until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture into the greased baking dish, pressing firmly across the bottom to form an even layer.
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the crust, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of salt across the top.
- Scatter the chocolate chips over the condensed milk, followed by the coconut flakes.
- Press the toppings gently into the condensed milk with the tines of a fork.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 28-30 minutes, until the coconut is golden-brown.
- Remove from the oven and run a knife along the edges of the dish for easy cutting.
- Cool completely for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Cut into 12 bars or 16 squares, serve, and enjoy!
Notes
Try adding vanilla extract or cinnamon for extra flavor. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
