Description

Delightful Chocolate Coconut Bars made with graham cracker crust, chocolate chips, and coconut flakes, perfect for sharing.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups fine graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 teaspoon fine sea salt, separated
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease an 8″x8″ baking dish.
  2. Stir together the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a small mixing bowl until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture into the greased baking dish, pressing firmly across the bottom to form an even layer.
  4. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the crust, spreading it evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of salt across the top.
  6. Scatter the chocolate chips over the condensed milk, followed by the coconut flakes.
  7. Press the toppings gently into the condensed milk with the tines of a fork.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 28-30 minutes, until the coconut is golden-brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and run a knife along the edges of the dish for easy cutting.
  10. Cool completely for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  11. Cut into 12 bars or 16 squares, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

Try adding vanilla extract or cinnamon for extra flavor. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
