Description
Delicious chocolate chip cookie dough truffles that combine nostalgia and sweetness in every bite.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (heat treated)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup white sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- 2 cups chocolate melting wafers or chocolate chips for coating
Instructions
- Begin by heat treating the flour: spread it on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes. Let it cool before using it.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Cream these ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Pour in the milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until the ingredients are well incorporated, creating a soft cookie dough-like consistency.
- Slowly add the cooled, heat-treated flour to the mixture. Stir until a cohesive dough forms, ensuring no dry lumps remain.
- Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout the dough.
- Take small portions of dough, around 1 tablespoon each, and roll them into smooth balls. Place these on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Freeze the dough balls for 15-20 minutes to help them hold their shape during dipping.
- Melt the chocolate coating in a microwave-safe bowl, heating chocolate chips or wafers in batches for 20 seconds, stirring between each batch until smooth.
- Using a fork, dip each chilled dough ball into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off.
- Return the coated truffles to the parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes until the chocolate sets.
Notes
For added flair, try rolling truffles in crushed nuts or cocoa powder before the chocolate sets.
