Ingredients
- – 1 pound (454 g) lean ground beef
- – 2 ounces (57 g) sharp cheddar cheese – cubed into 8 cubes
- – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) kosher salt
- – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) black pepper
- – 2 teaspoons (10 ml) garlic powder
- – 2 teaspoons (10 ml) smoked paprika
- – Vegetable oil spray
Instructions
- Set your oven to 400°F and prepare a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper that can withstand high temperatures, or you may choose a lightly greased Pyrex or ceramic dish instead.
- Portion the beef into eight equal pieces and flatten each piece into a disc. Position a cheddar cube at the center of each disc.
- Form each disc into a meatball, ensuring it is sealed securely.
- In a shallow dish, combine the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Coat the outside of each meatball with the spice mix.
- Arrange the meatballs on the baking sheet and lightly spray them with vegetable oil. Cook them in the oven until fully done, which should take roughly 20 minutes.
- Let the meatballs sit for 5 minutes prior to serving.
