A delightful twist on the classic Boston Cream Pie using flaky croissants filled with vanilla pastry cream and topped with glossy chocolate glaze.
Ingredients
- Croissants (store-bought or homemade)
- Vanilla pastry cream
- Chocolate glaze
- Butter
- Sugar
- Milk
- Eggs
- Vanilla extract
- Cornstarch
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the vanilla pastry cream by whisking together milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and cornstarch in a saucepan over medium heat until thickened. Let it cool completely.
- If using store-bought croissants, slice them in half. If making from scratch, prepare the croissant dough and shape it into croissants.
- Fill each croissant with the cooled pastry cream.
- For the chocolate glaze, melt chocolate with a bit of butter until smooth.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the filled croissants.
- Serve immediately or chill for a more set cream.
