Description

A delightful treat combining soft, buttery dough with juicy blueberries, perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a bundt pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and egg. Combine both mixtures until a dough forms.
  4. Gently fold in the blueberries.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Tear off small pieces of dough, roll in the brown sugar mixture, and layer in the bundt pan.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly, then invert onto a serving plate.
  9. For the glaze, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and lemon juice until smooth. Drizzle over the monkey bread.
  10. Serve warm or cold.

Notes

For best results, use fresh blueberries and monitor the baking time closely.
