Crispy and tender air fryer asparagus that is quick and easy to prepare, making it the perfect side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh asparagus
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons pecorino cheese (optional, for serving)
- Lemon (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Wash and dry the asparagus and trim the ends by cutting them about 1-2 inches from the bottom.
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F.
- Place the trimmed asparagus into a large bowl or dish. Drizzle it with olive oil and season it with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Toss to ensure each spear is coated evenly.
- Lay the seasoned asparagus in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Cook until tender and crispy, which takes about 5-10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the asparagus.
- Serve immediately, optionally topped with pecorino cheese and a squeeze of lemon.
Notes
Don’t overcrowd the basket for best crispiness. Experiment with seasonings and cheeses for variety.
