A comforting and hearty beef stroganoff made with ground beef, mushrooms, and a creamy sauce, perfect for any family dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 cup full-fat sour cream
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat for about 5–7 minutes until cooked through.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté for another 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in sliced mushrooms and cook until tender, approximately 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well.
- Gradually add beef broth while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- Simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Reduce heat and fold in sour cream, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice, garnishing with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of Worcestershire sauce or paprika.
