Description

A flavorful and tender Korean BBQ classic made easy in the air fryer, featuring marinated chicken thighs and a delicious marinade.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 Korean pear (or apple/pear juice substitute)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (optional for spice)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Blend the Korean pear, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, avocado oil, and gochujang until smooth.
  2. Coat the chicken thighs in the marinade and let them rest for at least one hour, or ideally overnight.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 385°F.
  4. Cook the chicken for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. Sear the chicken in a hot skillet until golden brown, about 8 minutes per side.
  6. Plate the chicken and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

For best results, marinate the chicken longer for deeper flavor. Keep an eye on internal temperature to avoid overcooking.
