A refreshing summer drink blending fresh lemon juice, sugar, and whipped cream for a creamy indulgence.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6-8 lemons)
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 4 cups cold water, divided
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Ice cubes, for serving
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
- Mint sprigs, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Combine lemon juice and sugar in a medium saucepan.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves completely (5-7 minutes).
- Simmer gently for 1 minute. Avoid boiling vigorously.
- Remove from heat and cool the syrup completely.
- Ensure the heavy cream is thoroughly chilled.
- In a large bowl, whip the cold heavy cream using an electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form.
- Set the whipped cream aside in the refrigerator.
- In a large pitcher, combine the cooled lemon syrup and 2 cups of cold water, stirring well. Taste and adjust the sweetness if necessary.
- Fill the pitcher with ice cubes.
- Gently fold in half of the whipped cream using a spatula.
- Repeat with the remaining whipped cream, folding until just combined.
- Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water and gently stir to combine.
- Pour the whipped lemonade into glasses filled with ice.
- Garnish with lemon slices and mint sprigs if desired.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
For best results, use fresh lemon juice and chill your mixing bowls and beaters before whipping the cream.
