Description

A vibrant carne asada marinade featuring fresh citrus, garlic, and spices that transforms your grilling experience.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 4-6 limes)
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice (about 1 large orange)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro, roughly chopped (stems and leaves)
  • 1/2 medium white onion, roughly chopped
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, finely minced (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Mexican oregano (or regular oregano)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground is best)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (or kosher salt)


Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor.
  2. Blend until smooth (30-60 seconds).
  3. Marinate your meat with the marinade in a large bowl or resealable bag.
  4. Allow the meat to marinate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  5. Remove the meat from the refrigerator and discard the used marinade.
  6. Grill your meat to perfection.

Notes

Rest the meat for five minutes after grilling to enhance juiciness.
