Ingredients
- – 1 pound (454 g) lean ground beef
- – 1/3 cup (80 ml) bread crumbs
- – 2 teaspoons (10 ml) tomato paste
- – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) mustard
- – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) soy sauce
- – 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) garlic powder
- – 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) onion powder
- – 2 packets Brown Gravy Mix
- – 2 cups (480 ml) beef broth
- – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) tomato paste
- – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) soy sauce
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients for the patties in a big bowl. Mix well using your hands. Shape the mixture into four equal portions and press each into a patty shape.
- Warm a tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the patties until they are no longer pink inside. Then, lower the heat.
- In hot water, blend the gravy mix, tomato paste, and soy sauce. Stir well to combine. Pour the gravy over the patties in the pan and let it simmer. If the gravy becomes too thick, add a quarter cup of extra water and mix. Serve hot, optionally over mashed potatoes.
