  • – 4 cloves garlic minced
  • – 2 1/2 tablespoons (38 ml) chili powder divided, or to taste
  • – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) cumin
  • – 1 green bell pepper seeded and diced
  • – 14.5 ounces (411 g) crushed tomatoes 1 can
  • – 19 ounces (539 g) canned chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • – 14.5 ounces (411 g) canned diced tomatoes with juices
  • – 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) beef broth
  • – 1 cup (240 ml) fruit juice
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) tomato paste
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) brown sugar optional
  • – salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix the minced beef with 1 ½ tablespoons of chili powder.

  4. Serve with toppings like cheddar cheese, green onions, cilantro, or any other preferred garnishes.

  • Enhance flavor by adding Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce while simmering.
  • Achieve thicker consistency by mashing some chickpeas before adding to chili.
  • Adjust spiciness by altering chili powder amount to suit personal taste.
