Ingredients

- Cream cheese, 4 oz (115 g)
- Blackberries, 1/2 cup (75 g)
- Honey, 1 tbsp (15 ml)
- Lettuce leaves, 4 large
- Tomato, 1 large, sliced
- Red onion, 1/2 medium, sliced
- Whole wheat burger buns, 4
- Olive oil, 1 tbsp (15 ml)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken or turkey, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the patties for 6-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the blackberries and honey over medium heat.
- Cook the blackberry mixture until it thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the blackberry mixture to cool slightly.
- Spread cream cheese evenly on the bottom half of each burger bun.
- Place a cooked patty on top of the cream cheese layer.
- Spoon the blackberry mixture over each patty.
- Add a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and a few slices of red onion on top of each patty.
- Place the top half of the bun on each burger.
