Ingredients

  • Salt, 1 tsp (5 g)
  • Black pepper, 1/2 tsp (2.5 g)
  • Garlic powder, 1/2 tsp (2.5 g)
  • Onion powder, 1/2 tsp (2.5 g)
  • Cream cheese, 4 oz (115 g)
  • Blackberries, 1/2 cup (75 g)
  • Honey, 1 tbsp (15 ml)
  • Lettuce leaves, 4 large
  • Tomato, 1 large, sliced
  • Red onion, 1/2 medium, sliced
  • Whole wheat burger buns, 4
  • Olive oil, 1 tbsp (15 ml)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken or turkey, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook the patties for 6-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
  6. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the blackberries and honey over medium heat.
  7. Cook the blackberry mixture until it thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
  8. Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the blackberry mixture to cool slightly.
  9. Spread cream cheese evenly on the bottom half of each burger bun.
  10. Place a cooked patty on top of the cream cheese layer.
  11. Spoon the blackberry mixture over each patty.
  12. Add a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and a few slices of red onion on top of each patty.
