Description

A classic side dish of sweet, buttery glazed carrots that add color and flavor to any holiday table.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh carrots (baby carrots or regular carrots cut into 1/4-inch slices)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the carrots by rinsing them under cold water. If using larger carrots, peel and slice them uniformly.
  2. Add the butter to a skillet over medium heat, allowing it to melt completely.
  3. Once melted, stir in brown sugar and a pinch of salt, creating a mixture.
  4. Add the carrots and toss them gently, ensuring each piece is well coated in the buttery glaze.
  5. Cover the skillet and sauté for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the carrots are tender.
  6. Once the carrots are soft and caramelized, remove them from heat. Optionally, garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Choose the right carrots for the best flavor. Experiment with spices like cinnamon or nutmeg for added depth.
