Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers
- Fresh basil leaves
- Rice paper wrappers
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook 1 lb of lean ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add 1 tbsp of soy sauce and 1 tbsp of hoisin sauce. Stir well until fully combined and let the mixture simmer for a few minutes.
- Incorporate 1 cup of shredded carrots and 1/2 cup of chopped bell peppers. Cook until the vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally.
- Soften rice paper in warm water for about 10-15 seconds. Carefully remove and lay it flat on a clean surface.
- Add a portion of the beef and vegetable mixture to the center, topped with fresh basil leaves.
- Roll up tightly, tucking in the sides as you go, to secure the filling within the wrapper.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate for later enjoyment.
Notes
Keep unused rice paper sheets covered with a damp cloth to maintain moisture. Experiment with different vegetables or herbs for a personal twist.
