Description

A flavorful and juicy Texas style brisket slow-cooked to perfection, embodying the spirit of delicious home cooking.

Ingredients

  • 4-5 lbs beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Mix smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl to create a rub.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket.
  4. Place the brisket in a roasting pan and pour beef broth into the bottom of the pan.
  5. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and place it in the oven.
  6. Roast the brisket for about 3-4 hours, or until it’s tender.
  7. Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and roast for an additional 30 minutes to an hour.
  8. Let the brisket rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
  9. Serve with BBQ sauce on the side.

Notes

Allow ample time for cooking; brisket is not a quick dish. Adjust temperatures if bark isn’t forming correctly.
