Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups pecan halves
- 1 pre-made 9-inch pie crust (or homemade)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup light corn syrup
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan and crimp the edges.
- Layer the pecans evenly across the bottom of the crust.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
- Pour the mixture over the pecans.
- Melt the chocolate chips with the heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the pecan filling and create a marbled effect with a knife.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes until the filling is set but slightly jiggly.
- Let the pie cool completely for at least two hours before slicing.
Notes
Toasting the pecans beforehand enhances their flavor. Consider adding a pinch of cinnamon or bourbon for additional depth.
