Description

A decadent dessert that combines the nutty crunch of pecans with rich chocolate in a flaky crust. Perfect for family gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups pecan halves
  • 1 pre-made 9-inch pie crust (or homemade)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan and crimp the edges.
  3. Layer the pecans evenly across the bottom of the crust.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  5. Pour the mixture over the pecans.
  6. Melt the chocolate chips with the heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth.
  7. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the pecan filling and create a marbled effect with a knife.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes until the filling is set but slightly jiggly.
  9. Let the pie cool completely for at least two hours before slicing.

Notes

Toasting the pecans beforehand enhances their flavor. Consider adding a pinch of cinnamon or bourbon for additional depth.
