Description

A delightful blend of chocolate, strawberries, and cream cheese in a rich cake that surprises with its visual appeal and flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup strawberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup coconut flakes
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, mix softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Drop spoonfuls of this mixture over the cake batter.
  5. Sprinkle chopped strawberries, coconut flakes, and nuts evenly over the top.
  6. Using a knife, gently swirl the cream cheese mixture into the cake batter to create an ‘earthquake’ effect.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature before starting. Pair with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for extra delight.
