Description
A delightful layered cake infused with strawberry flavor, topped with creamy frosting and a crunchy Oreo mixture, perfect for any celebration.
Ingredients
- 1 (15.25 oz) box white cake mix
- Eggs, oil, and water as specified on the cake mix box
- 1 (3 oz) box strawberry gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1½ cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 18-20 Golden Oreos, coarsely crushed
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 (3 oz) box strawberry gelatin powder
- Fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Prepare the cake batter according to the package instructions. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 22-25 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center—if it comes out clean, the cake is ready. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool completely.
- Once the cake has cooled, poke holes evenly across the surface using a fork. In a mixing cup, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir in 1 cup of cold water to combine. Pour the gelatin mixture evenly over the cake and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Whip the heavy cream, confectioners’ sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until combined. Spread the frosting evenly over the chilled cake.
- Combine the crushed Golden Oreos with melted butter and dry strawberry gelatin powder. Mix and sprinkle over the frosted cake, pressing lightly to adhere.
- Refrigerate the assembled cake for at least 30 minutes. Slice and serve.
Notes
For best flavor, refrigerate overnight after adding the gelatin. Use fresh strawberries for garnish.
