Description

Learn how to make delicious Spicy Beef Tacos with our easy-to-follow recipe. Perfect for Taco Tuesdays or any day of the week!

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
  • 1 onions, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons (30 ml) chili powder
  • 2 Tablespoons (30 ml) cumin
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) paprika
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 lb. (680 g) lean ground beef
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 oz. (113 g) can green chilies
  • 2 cups (480 ml) homemade salsa
  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml) hot sauce
  • 12 hard taco shells
  • cheddar cheese, lettuce, and sour cream for topping

Instructions

  1. Warm the olive oil in a large frying pan on medium-high flame. Toss in the chopped onion and sauté, stirring once in a while, for about 4 minutes. Introduce the bell pepper pieces and continue cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
  2. Incorporate the Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and crushed garlic. Blend thoroughly and let it cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the minced beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook, breaking the meat apart, for 5 minutes or until it loses its pink color.
  4. Stir in the green chilies, homemade salsa, and hot sauce. Allow the mixture to gently bubble.
  5. Lower the heat and let it cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes.
  6. To serve, stuff the taco shells with the beef mixture and garnish with cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, and sour cream.

Notes

  • Try boosting the spiciness by incorporating a dash of cayenne pepper into the seasoning blend.
  • Opt for lean ground beef to minimize excess oil in the taco filling.
  • Experiment with various toppings such as diced tomatoes, avocado, or jalapeños to personalize your tacos.
