Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup active sourdough starter
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 teaspoons salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt together.
- Add the active sourdough starter and warm water, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise at room temperature for about 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat up.
- Once the dough has risen, shape it into a loaf and place it on parchment paper.
- Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven, place the dough inside (with parchment), cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Ensure your water is warm but not hot. Use a digital thermometer to check the yeast activation temperature.
