Description

Delightful Southern butter biscuits, light and fluffy, perfect for family gatherings or brunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk.
  5. Stir gently until the dough comes together.
  6. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it gently a few times.
  7. Roll out to about 1 inch thick and cut out biscuits with a round cutter.
  8. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Keep the butter cold for the best texture and consider chilling mixing tools for optimal results.
