Description

Delightful sourdough garlic knots infused with garlic and fresh parsley, perfect for dipping in soups or enjoying warm.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sourdough discard
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the sourdough discard, flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
  3. Gradually add warm water and stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll them into knots.
  6. Place the knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, and garlic powder.
  8. Brush the garlic butter mixture over the knots.
  9. Sprinkle a little salt on top.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Serve warm, perfect for dipping in soup.

Notes

Let the knots rise briefly for added fluffiness. Experiment with the garlic flavor to suit your taste.
