Description
Crispy and flavorful sourdough discard crackers made from leftover starter, perfect for snacking or pairing with dips.
Ingredients
- 200 grams sourdough discard (1 cup stirred and unfed starter)
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
- 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
- Seasonings to taste (flaky sea salt, everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, etc.)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a large measuring cup or mixing bowl and allow it to cool until just lukewarm.
- Add the sourdough discard and salt to the cooled butter, then stir with a spatula until well combined.
- Pour the mixture onto your prepared parchment-lined baking sheet and spread it into a thin, even layer.
- Lightly sprinkle the surface with flaky salt and your chosen seasonings.
- Transfer the baking sheet immediately to the oven and bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and score the dough into bite-size squares using a pizza cutter.
- Return to the oven for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until golden and firm.
- Let the crackers cool on the baking sheet, then store them in an airtight container or zip bag.
