Description

Delightful crisps made from sourdough discard, featuring a warm cinnamon and sugar flavor perfect for snacking.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: Additional sugar and cinnamon for topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sourdough discard, flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add melted butter and vanilla extract to the dry mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  5. Cut into desired shapes and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. If desired, sprinkle additional sugar and cinnamon on top.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and crisp.
  8. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

For easier rolling, place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper. Cool on a wire rack to maintain crispness.
