Delightful crisps made from sourdough discard, featuring a warm cinnamon and sugar flavor perfect for snacking.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: Additional sugar and cinnamon for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the sourdough discard, flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Add melted butter and vanilla extract to the dry mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut into desired shapes and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- If desired, sprinkle additional sugar and cinnamon on top.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and crisp.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
For easier rolling, place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper. Cool on a wire rack to maintain crispness.
