Transform leftover sourdough discard into deliciously cheesy biscuits that are crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1 stick melted butter (1/2 cup)
- 2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and salt.
- Add the melted butter and cheddar cheese to the dry ingredients.
- Mix in the sourdough discard until a large dough ball forms.
- Divide the dough into nine equal portions and drop them onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until firm and slightly golden brown.
- Let cool for 3-5 minutes on the pan before transferring to a cooling rack.
Notes
For best results, use freshly shredded cheese and consider adding herbs or spices for extra flavor.
