Delightful sourdough cheese crackers, combining tangy sourdough with rich cheddar and spices for a crunchy snack.
Ingredients
- 230 grams (1 cup) sourdough starter (active or discard)
- 3 tablespoons melted butter or oil
- 120 grams (1 cup) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine sourdough starter, melted butter, flour, salt, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Stir the mixture until it binds into a shaggy dough.
- Transfer the dough onto a clean work surface and knead gently until smooth.
- Divide the dough into two equal pieces and wrap in plastic if refrigerating.
- Roll out the dough between two sheets of parchment paper to 1/16 inch thickness.
- Cut the dough into squares or desired shapes, pricking with a fork.
- Place on baking sheets and bake for 30-40 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Let cool on the tray before serving.
Notes
