A rich and moist sour cream chocolate loaf cake reminiscent of childhood memories, perfect for sharing.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the sour cream and vanilla.
- Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with chocolate glaze before serving. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
